
AMS print and digital ads
CLIENT: AMS Gateshead
BRIEF: Create print and digital advertising to promote its BA course.

I created a one-off print half page ad and a digital side bar ad for my client, the Academy of Music & Sound - Gateshead, in order to promote its BA Music & Sound course and the academy in general. I utilised an existing brand identity (marks, colours, fonts and some existing vector graphics) in order to ensure consistency. I worked with the specifications of the publisher and supplied print-ready and online-ready files to them directly. I worked on the composition of each, considering the medium they would be used on.

On the half page print ad, I prioritised the the proposition (the name of the course) and the CTA (the telephone number, contrasted against white) to ensure it would be as effective as possible. The side bar advert was simpler, as there was less information to communicate, as the task was just advertise the academy in general. I decided to devote the majority of the space available to the wordmark and then either feature a button to click through to the site or to include the URL of the site. I presented the client with a range of options (shown above) and they chose the final one.
